  3. There has been considerable 
  4. controversy over the wearing 
  5. of contact lenses in work 
  6. environments where accidents 
  7. might happen such as from 
  8. flying particles or chemicals.  
  9. Studies have indicated that 
  10. wearing of contact lenses 
  11. under these conditions does 
  12. not constitute an increased risk.  
  13. In many cases contact lenses 
  14. (rigid and soft) have decreased 
  15. the severity of ocular injuries 
  16. in such accidents.

  18. HOWEVER, CONTACT LENS PATIENTS MUST BE WARNED TO WEAR THE APPROPRIATE EYE PROTECTION AS WOULD AN EMMETROPE!
